Argh... and Grr.
I despise closemindedness if no one noticed.
I'm a loather of labels, sterotypes, and all other things related in this category. Although I understand the reasoning behind classification, I do not understand why all humans must shy away from each other due to a different label. Whenever I think of labels, I think of soup and music.
Why can't you mix chicken noodle with a little of tomato?
Why can't a little jazz be added to heavy layers of rock?
Most people see nothing wrong with this, other than the fact that soups might taste kinda funky. But humans aren't supposed to be eaten, aside from cannibals and the like. So why do people get the honor of having one label unthoughtfully slapped upon them and get the joy of being avoided of people from the opposite label?
People are a little bit of sugar and spice, light and dark, simple and unique. Why can't we just admit that and get to know everyone separately rather than meet one person of the so-called label and then immediately decide you dislike that 'kind' of people?
It makes no sense to be because no one's simplifying anything. Everyone is different, and although it may seem easier to categorize everyone, it truly isn't. You could waste you time being a complete bitch and ignoring those of a different label or you could actually get to know people for what they are.
Hell, we're all a little bit of everything, so why bother labeling? Why not just say-- I'm me? Rather than--- she's a punk. What the fuck is that supposed to mean anyway? It'd be better to go--- she's herself. She's crazy, sarcastic, a little squirmish, yada yada--- It makes more sense to me to describe who you are with words rather than labels.
Because you can only have one label, but you can have many words.
